Day One
Down-Valley: Experience the Mild and Wild

8:00am – 9:00am

Start your day in Snowmass Village at Brothers’ Grille, where you’ll be seated at the top of Fanny Hill overlooking Snowmass. Afterwards, drive or takea RFTA bus down to Glenwood Springs, just 45 minutes away. Throughout Snowmass Canyon and along the Roaring Fork River are working ranches and farms, and meadows and hills where the wildlife graze.

10:00am – 2:00pm

In Glenwood Springs go to the Iron Mountain Tramway for a scenic ride up to the top, where you will find the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. The Glenwood Caverns and the historic Fairy Caves, hold some of nature’s most amazing geological features, millions of years in the making, hidden away deep inside Iron Mountain. You may choose to take cave tours ranging anywhere from a 70 minute Walking Tour, to a 3 hour Wild Tour, where you will learn about the living caverns system that is home to thousands of formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, cave bacon and flowstone. Visit Exclamation Point, a cliffside balcony with panoramic views of Glenwood Canyon and the Colorado River, or experience oneof the Adventure Park thrill rides or special attractions like the Swing Shot or Petting Zoo.

2:00pm – 4:00pm

Eat lunch in town at the Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company, where you may find freshly brewed specialty and seasonal beers, or at The Courtyard Café in the Hotel Colorado, for an outdoor lunch amongst the flowers and fountains. After lunch stop by the Frontier Historical Museum, where you may experience the “living legacy” of Glenwood Springs, take the walking tour of historic downtown or the “Ghost Walk” through Pioneer Cemetery, where the infamous “Doc” Holliday, a notorious, fearless, wild-west gambler and gunslinger,
is buried.

4:00pm – 6:00pm

At the end of the day, take a dip in the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs Pool. Sourced by the Yampah Hot Spring, this location was considered a sacred healing spot by the Ute Indians for hundreds of years. Here, you may relax in the naturally warm therapy pool, or swim and cool down in the main pool. There are also two waterslides, each offering over 300 feet of twists and turns for your enjoyment.

6:00pm – 8:00pm

Later, go back to Snowmass Village for a nice evening dinner at The Artisan Restaurant in the Stonebridge Inn, where you may enjoy the finest in locally produced, hand-crafted, influenced American cuisine by an award winning chef. After dinner, take a stroll though the unique gift boutiques, jewelry stores and art galleries on the Snowmass Village Mall.
